This week, year 3 and 4 were given a fantastic opportunity to work with a professional performer from West End in Schools to take part in a dance workshop all about Chinese New Year. This year is the year of the tiger and the children learnt all about the origin story of the Chinese Zodiac.
The legend of The Great Race is the most popular story told during Chinese New Year. It tells of how the Jade Emperor invited all the animals to a Great Race, promising to name a year after each of the first 12 animals to cross the river.
All the children had so much fun and it was such a fabulous way to unify storytelling and dance.
